Businesses have been told to “stop moaning” and help solve the car parking problems in Elmbridge, after telling the council it was too expensive to park in the borough.
Elmbridge Council is offering to negotiate on cutting the price of season tickets for employees of local businesses if they explain how many tickets they need.
Councillor Roy Taylor, leader of the Tory-run council, said: “Let’s not have a continual moan about how awful things are. We know times are tough for Elmbridge businesses at the moment so come and talk to us. We are here to do business.”
Currently most season tickets holders pay between £2.70 and £3.65 per day depending upon which car parks they use, based on a 45-week year.
Any business in the borough interested in taking this proposal forward should contact the parking services manager 01372 474777.
