A charity chief is backing a campaign to improve support for blind people.
The head of Colliers Wood charity Mertonvision is backing the Royal National Institute for the Blind’s new Lost and Found project, which calls for more support for the visually impaired.
Mertonvision provides advice, support and training for blind or partially sighted people, as well as running lunch clubs and social activities.
Fran Hibbert, the charity’s chief executive, urged potential sponsors and anyone who could benefit from the charity’s services to get in touch.
She said: “We try to provide all the services that local people ask us to, but there is never enough money for everything, we do the best that we can with the money that we have.
“Likewise, we know that there are still local people who do not know that we exist and we have very little money to advertise. We are really hopeful that this campaign will help us with this.”
