A brutal mugger who strangled a woman in her 50s in West Norwood before making off with her watch and handbag has been sentenced to life in prison.
Matthew Mykoo, from north London, will have to serve a minimum of nine years after being sentenced today for a string of violent robberies.
The 27-year-old targeted lone women in seven “strangulation robberies”, often working with his brother Daniel Mykoo.
Daniel, 29, from Fulham, was also today sentenced to life imprisonment at Wood Green Crown Court.
He must serve a minimum of 14 years after admitting to 19 counts of robbery.
Daniel Mykoo would grab the victim and strangle them while Matthew stole their bags, jewellery and other personal possessions, the court heard.
Their serial muggings and attacks took place between March and June last year.
The robbery on the woman in West Norwood took place on June 14.
Daniel Mykoo's victims included fashion deisgner Nicole Farhi, but Matthew Mykoo was cleared of her robbery.
