Brian Adamson has backed striker Glenn Boosey to continue producing fireworks for his Corinthian Casuals side this season - or else!

Boosey struck a 30-yard stunner as the amateurs were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against visitors Sittingbourne on Saturday, a result which kept them in mid-table in the Ryman Division One South.

And Adamson reckons there is plenty more to come from the former Sutton United and Hampton & Richmond man.

He said: “The goal Glenn scored on Saturday was truly world class - it was a whirlwind strike.

“But that is what he is capable of.

“Everyone I talk to says that they knew he could produce but he was never fit enough.

“But Glenn really worked hard over the summer and we are getting the rewards.

“Now that he is at that level I expect performances like this for the rest of the season.

“If he doesn’t I will be having a word with him - and you can quote me on that.”

Adamson was frustrated to be pegged back despite Boosey’s third league goal of the campaign.

And the Casuals boss admitted his side still have lots to learn.

He added: “We need to be more clinical in front of goal and we really need to start putting away our chances.

“We are playing well but are not getting what we deserve.

“That little bit of luck also seems to have deserted us although it is nothing I am too concerned about.”

Ashford Town are next up on Saturday as Casuals look to get back to winning ways, and Adamson is gunning for three points.

He added: “We have made a good start but we can certainly improve.

“There is a good atmosphere here at present and the key for us now is to push on and take that further.”
