Skateboarders performed tricks and mid-air flicks as they fought for the title of Skateboard Champion at the St Helier Skate parks competition last weekend.
More than thirty teenagers competed at the event on Saturday, which also included BMX and inline skating.
Sutton Ramp Events organiser Judith Smith said: “The day was an absolute success with over 190 attending, from participants to friends and family watching.”
Sutton Ramp Events works in co-ordination with the community to create a safe environment for young children who would otherwise be causing mischief on the streets of Sutton.
Philippa Stroud, Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Sutton and Cheam, said: “So many people tell me that they are concerned about antisocial behaviour from our young people.
“But this was a great example of a team of youth workers who, week in and week out, invest their time and energy in these youngsters.”
