Secondary school pupils in Wandsworth are invited to audition for Wandsworth’s Young Performer of the Year 2009 competition.
The contest is open to singers, poets, dancers, musicians, bands, comedians and any other performers with shows suitable for the stage.
The winner will receive a £300 cash prize, plus a tailored package of support and opportunities.
Participants must be between 11 and 19 years old and either live or go to a school or youth club in Wandsworth.
Auditions take place across Wandsworth throughout October.
Successful candidates will be invited to take part in skills development workshops specifically designed for Young Performer entrants.
The sessions will help youngsters to hone their skills and will take place during autumn half term at Halo Bar, Battersea Arts Centre and the Royal Academy of Dance.
Just 20 acts will then be selected to perform to an audience of 300 at the Live Final at the Civic Suite, Wandsworth High Street on November 29.
