Staines Town have been drawn away at Walton Casuals in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup as reward for winning 3-2 at Sittingbourne Town on Saturday.

Despite being forced into a host of changes, Staines opened the scoring after 10 minutes when big defender Marien Ifura rose unmarked to head home Howard Newton’s corner from the left.

The home side soon settled and had a good shout for a penalty when Swans left-back Dominic Sterling appeared to handle Colin Richmond’s free kick, although the defender claimed he had been shoved in the back.

Staines went close when Sterling tested home keeper Deren Ibrahim from a corner.

But Sittingbourne had a few chances toward the end of the first half.

Hicham Akhazzan went close with both a free kick and a header, Adam Cotterell squandered a chance following a stumble in the Swans defence and Matt Lovell sent a shot just over.

Staines gave themselves some breathing space in the 58th minute. Although Andre Scarlett’s shot was blocked, Elliot Onochie’s powerful follow-up made it 2-0.

Sittingbourne were back in it just a minute later, when Nick Reeves headed in Billy Manners’ cross from the right.

The hosts went all out to force a replay and sub Elie Kayembe’s shot just cleared the bar.

But the Swans made it 3-1 in the 86th minute. Onochie received a long ball out of defence and Newton, aided by a deflection, helped the ball on for Ali Chaaban to literally walk the ball into the net.

Three minutes into stoppage time, Akhazzan was tripped in the box and stepped up himself to score Sittingbourne;s second goal.

However, Staines held out to claim the £4,500 prize money.
