Brian Adamson insists his Corinthian Casuals side will not simply fade away after the amateurs moved into seventh spot in the Ryman Division One South at the weekend.
Saturday’s 5-1 thrashing of visitors Ashford Town saw the Casuals maintain their best start to a season in recent memory.
And Adamson is eager to lap up the good times.
He said: “In my opinion this is not going to stop - we are in this for the long haul.
“We have players at the club now who are used to being part of winning teams and that has changed the atmosphere around the place.
“I am no different to any other manager - we all have ambition.
“Nobody wants to manage a team that struggles year in, year out but that is what was the norm here.
“So it is great to have some success at last - supporters who have suffered with us for years have a smile on their face and it is nice to see.”
Jamal Carr (two), Glenn Boosey, Kane Sergeant and Carlton Murray-Pierce were the scorers at the weekend as Casuals romped to victory.
And Adamson reckoned it was the clinical edge that proved the difference.
He added: “We took our chances - I think the scoreline flattered us a bit but we will not care.
“We had six good chances and scored five and that is not bad a return.
“There is confidence throughout the side and the dressing room is very positive at the moment.”
The amateurs host Worthing this weekend in the FA Trophy, and Adamson insists he will be going for broke once again.
He added: “We have a few players itching for a game but I will put out the strongest side I have.
“I would love a run in the Trophy as we did not have much luck in the FA Cup so we will be going for it.”
Corinthian Casuals next three matches: Oct 3 Worthing (FAT, h), 6 Leatherhead (a), 10 Burgess Hill Town (a)
