Neil Warnock says Alassane N'Diaye was like a child with a new toy after scoring his first professional goal against West Brom at the weekend.
The 19-year-old Frenchman, who was rested for the previous game against Derby, collected Alan Lee's flick-on to score the winner against the Baggies and earn the Eagles a memorable win.
"He was delighted and like a little kid with a new toy in the dressing room after," said Warnock.
"He's worked so hard and I am pleased for him."
Meanwhile striker Freddie Sears is in a race to be fit for this Saturday's home game against Blackpool after an ankle injury.
"Freddie has run the last few days so that's pleasing," said Warnock.
"I think he has an outside chance for the weekend but he probably won't be back until after the international break."
