Financing Growth for Small Businesses – submitted by community correspondent Anthea Lashley-Small Financing Growth for Small Businesses will be the topic of this month’s VIP breakfast to be held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Sutton on Wednesday,7th. October. The event will begin at 7.00 a.m.
Financing Growth for Small Businesses will cover financing options such as grants, debt and equity. The talk will then focus on equity investment, the g2i programme and how g2i can assist companies in accessing equity funding, and what equity investors are looking for in an opportunity.
The talk will be led by Victoria Wiesener, who is the programme manager for Gateway 2 Investment, investment readiness programme, which is supported by the London Development Agency and managed by a consortium led by Grant Thornton.
For those, who have watched Dragons Den or sought financial support, some of these terms will be familiar, for others they will be new, but will play an ever more important role as businesses once again grow following the down turn.
Ms Wiesener has nine years of experience in private equity transactions, having started her career at Morgan Stanley within the Leveraged Transactions Group, pulling together debt financing packages to support leveraged buyouts. She later, moved to Apax Partners, one of the leading global private equity firms, where she spent over 5 years as an Investment Manager evaluating and completing transactions in a range of industry sectors. Most recently she founded her own maternity retail company, operating both a retail store and online business. Victoria graduated with a BA (Hons) in International Business with Languages from Heriot-Watt University in 1995 and has lived and worked in both France and Germany. She now lives in Surrey with her husband and two children.
There will be the usual networking opportunity prior to the breakfast from 7am, and this event will have no charge for attendance and will be followed by the Chamber Annual General Meeting at the same venue.
The breakfast will be limited to 60 attendees, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
