A man from Walton has died in hospital after crashing his car on the M3 near Fleet last week.

Alan Martyn Clark, 53, from Ashley Close, hit the central reservation in his silver Mercedes, before going across all three lanes of the motorway’s southbound side.

He eventually crashed into an embankment 40 yards from the motorway.

Mr Clark was taken to Frimley Park Hospital, where he died on Friday.

Hampshire Police are reported to be investigating whether Mr Clark had a “medical episode” before the crash, but said they were still unsure why he came off the motorway.

Police are still asking for witnesses to the accident, who should call 0845 0454545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
