Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock felt his side lacked quality in the 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, which he described as a fair result, writes Imaad Bajwa.

Both sides failed to wear their scoring boots, as they missed a dozen opportunities to put their teams ahead, with Alan Lee and Darren Ambrose the most guilty of the Palace players.

“We are missing Freddie Sears," said Warnock.

"We lacked quality tonight, yet so did they.

"But I cant fault the performance, we worked hard.”

Palace came into the game on the back of an impressing win over West Brom, looking to leapfrog Sheffield Wednesday in the league.

“I thought we shaded it, especially in the first 20 minutes, if we had scored then it would have been very difficult for them," said Warnock.

“It's about putting your chances away, simple as that.”

Warnock had words of praise for Paddy McCarthy after he played the game despite being struck down with the same virus that has seen Claude Davis stay in bed since Saturday.

“I thought he was magnificent considering the circumstances, all credit to him," he said.

"He shouldn't have played.”

The Eagles have an injury concern over Victor Moses who picked up a knock, and is doubtful for the home game against Blackpool on Saturday.
