Artists working in Lambeth will be throwing open the doors to their studios as part of events to celebrate the borough’s vibrant arts scene.
Lambeth Wide Open, supported by Lambeth Council and Lambeth Open, run by artist Tim Sutton, will showcase the diverse range of artistic talent working in Lambeth.
The event on October 3 and 4 will see local artists and groups welcome the public into their workspaces to get a close look at what they get up to and learn about their methods, processes and ideas.
It is hoped the showcase will become an annual event.
Studios will be open from 12noon to 6pm this Saturday and Sunday, and more than 200 artists are taking part.
Councillor Rachel Heywood, cabinet member for culture on Lambeth Council, said: “These events are a great opportunity for people to find out about the artistic endeavours going on right on their doorstep, and perhaps get inspired to get more involved with art.
“At the same time if offers local artists a showcase for their work and a chance to reach a wider audience. I’d like to thank all those who are taking part.”
