A double murder inquiry is underway after a couple were killed in Croydon.
Police were called at just before 12.20pm today to reports of a disturbance at an address in Campden Road, South Croydon.
Officers and the ambulance service entered the first floor maisonette and found the bodies of a man and woman - believed to be aged in their 50s or 60s. They had suffered stab wounds.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Post-mortems will be held at Croydon mortuary tomorrow morning and afternoon.
Police are awaiting formal identification from next-of-kin.
A man aged 34 years was arrested at the address in connection with the incident and is now in custody at a south London police station.
Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command at Sutton, under DI Bob Campany, are leading the inquiry.
