PR guru Max Clifford was one of the VIP guests at Epsom Playhouse on Saturday.

Before the show, he took time out to play the Tommy pinball machine with Sian Tolfree, 14, who is seriously ill with a rare congenital disease called DiGeorge syndrome for which there is no cure.

More than 400 people packed the theatre to support Help the Angels 3, a variety show produced by Sian's older sister, Jade Tolfree, to raise vital funds for Chase Hospice Care for Children where Mr Clifford is a patron.

It also raised money for the Help an Angel Trust Fund, which was set up by Jade in 2005 to fund vital equipment for Sian.

Sian has undergone major heart and lung surgery a number of times and is now dependent on a tube in her stomach to feed her.

Saturday’s performance was the third in the series of Help the Angels shows which have raised more than £36,000.

Among the performers were members of the Epsom Light Operatic Company who performed numbers from their forthcoming production of Tommy.

The pinball machine will remain in the theatre to help raise money for the two charities.
