Elmbridge Council is considering using new powers to make sure dog owners keep the borough safe and clean.
Dog control orders would prevent dog owners from not picking up dog faeces and not keeping their dog on a lead. The orders would also stop owners from taking their dogs into green space where dogs are excluded.
The council is holding a public consultation between now and Monday, November 30, to hear residents’ views on the proposals.
For more information, to complete an online questionnaire and to see maps showing the areas that the orders will apply, visit elmbridge.gov.uk/dogs.
Otherwise, call the Countryside Team on 01372 474579 to ask for a postal questionnaire, or text “elm dog” to 07786 205155, followed by your name and address, to receive a questionnaire.
Any additional queries should be addressed to Dog Consultation, Elmbridge Council, Leisure and Cultural Services, Civic Centre, High Street, Esher, Surrey KT10 9SD or via email at leisure@elmbridge.gov.uk.
