Crystal Palace continued their fine form and even scored in the first half as they beat Blackpool 4-1 at Selhurst Park.
Alan Lee settled nerves in the second minute when Rob Edwards’ slip gave him a free header to open the scoring from Danny Butterfield’s cross.
That was Palace’s first goal in the opening 45 minutes in the last 20 games.
Julian Speroni saved from Brett Ormerod before Neil Danns ghosted into the box to double Palace’s lead from Shaun Derry’s cross.
Alex Baptiste had a strike wrongly ruled out for offside as the Eagles went into the break two goals to the good.
Speroni produced a world-class save from Ben Burgess before Baptiste did get a goal back from the resulting corner.
With Blackpool pushing for an equaliser Palace extended their lead against the run of play when Darren Ambrose converted Johnny Ertl’s exquisite chip despite seeming to be offside.
Baptiste was lucky to stay on the pitch after pushing Ertl in the face before Alassane N’Diaye converted fellow substitute Lee Hills’ cross with five minutes left.
The scoreline flatted Palace but they have now taken 10 points from a possible 12 going into the two-week international break and moved in to the top half of the table.
