Hounslow Wanderers recorded their fifth straight win in the Middlesex County Football League with a 3-1 win over Vallance to go third in the table, writes Saj Panesar.
Wanderers started slowly and it was the young Vallance team that responded better in the early exchanges.
Both teams failed to finish off any chances that they created and the half-time whistle blew with the game still goalless.
In the second half, Wanderers turned up the heat and the deadlock was broken early when captain Jas Sangha crossed for Mike Wilkinson to head in.
The Purple Haze extended their lead after some decisive interchanging play between substitute Thomas John and Wayne Harvey for the latter to finish off in emphatic style.
The game was still not finished as Vallance still provided a goal threat so a further goal was required.
This was dually obliged by Rickey Casse who headed home man-of-the-match Spencer Mitchell’s free-kick.
Vallance kept plugging away and got a consolation for their efforts to make the final score of 3-1.
The Purple Haze now take a break from league fixtures to visit Hellenic Reserve League side Rayners Lane Reserves in the first round of the Middlesex FA - Intermediate Cup.
