Developers at Springfield Hospital in Tooting officially announced their commitment to working with local residents last week.
At a board meeting for South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust, which runs the hospital, bosses promised to involve the community in future plans.
Architects have gone back to the drawing board after proposals for 1,200 new homes were rejected by the council in March.
