Armed muggers have been luring taxi drivers to a street in Tooting to be robbed at knife point.
Two taxi drivers were attacked in Massingberd Way near Tooting Bec Common in the past month, it was revealed this week.
One was stabbed in the forehead after his two male passengers asked to stop in the road on Wednesday, September 16, at 1am.
The two men, aged 25 to 28, fled with cash while he was taken to St George’s Hospital.
One was 6ft tall, with a grey hooded top and possibly blue jeans, while the other was 5ft 6in with a black hooded top.
Eleven days later, at 9.45pm on Sunday, September 27, a minicab driver was attacked on the same road.
Two 20-year-old black men threatened him with a knife before stealing cash and a PDA computer.
Police were not able to confirm arrests before we went to press.
