The programme of events for Black History Month has been announced.
Libraries across the borough will be hosting events to celebrate black history, heritage and the arts this month.
Highlights include poet and Somali radio station host Lady S showing off her freestyle poetry talents at Streatham library on Thursday, while crime novelist Dreda Say Mitchell is due to appear at West Norwood Library on October 12.
All appearances are at 7pm.
There are also a host of events aimed especially at young people including children's theatre with Winston Nzinga, and Steel Pan workshops and calypso sessions with Caribbean Calypsoist Alexander D Great.
Events are free but people are asked to book a space by calling 020 7926 1075 or emailing blackhistorymonth@lambeth.gov.uk.
