Lambeth’s basketball stars of the future got to meet their idols from the NBA on Clapham Common over the weekend.
The event was to mark an expensive revamp of the common’s basketball courts, courtesy of NBA Europe, Adidas and Lambeth Council.
The free Take to the Courts event on Saturday and Sunday gave players from across south London the chance to show off their skills.
Visitors took their best shot in a slam dunk competition, were entertained by NBA dance teams and mascots, and met NBA players and legends such as former Brixton Top Cats star Luol Deng, Derrick Rose and BJ Armstrong.
The council said the event showed its commitment to grassroots basketball as a way to keep young people involved in positive activity and stay fit and healthy.
