Youngsters are invited to join in the celebrations at a special birthday party this Sunday.
Wimbledon’s Polka Theatre is celebrating 30 years of exciting, entertaining and imaginative theatre for children and will be hosting a free birthday bash between 1pm and 5pm.
Children can take part in party games, art and craft activities, watch a magician and also see an open rehearsal of Christmas show Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
When Polka opened its doors November 20, 1979, it became the UK’s first theatre venue dedicated exclusively to children.
The event was marked by a gala performance attended by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
Since then some 2,500,000 visitors have passed through its doors in the Broadway.
