A nine-year-old Mitcham boy is celebrating winning all six events at the Development Chaser Open Gala in Bognor Regis.
Louis Millington, who swims with the Merton Pisces Swimming Club, entered – and won – the 50m backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke, as well as the 200m freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke. The club grabbed another 12 medals, including two golds, at the gala.
His coach, Harry Green, said: “I have high hopes for him.
“He's only come out of the training pool a few years ago and he's just gone from strength to strength.”
The gala was only Louis' second event after joining the Pisces in 2006, and his first set of gold medals.
Louis, who loves swimming and hopes to swim for Great Britain, said: “I'm really pleased to have won.”
His proud mother, Lorrain Millington, said: “He's been swimming since he was two.
“He wants to go on to swim in the Olympics.”
Mrs Millington also said that the “brilliant club and brilliant coach” deserved a lot of the credit for providing training and support for Louis and its other swimmers.
The Pisces swimmer is to enter the Surrey Open Gala, held at Crystal Palace, and it is hoped that with the benefit of extra training, he will be able to compete in all six events.
Asked about his chances at the Surrey gala, Louis said: “I should win.”
