More than 100 secondary school students were presented with Jack Petchey achievement awards last month.
The winners, aged between 11 and 25, received medallions and £200 cheques for their schools.
They were nominated by their friends and teachers, winning awards for a variety of achievements The scheme is worth £35,800 each year to schools in Croydon.
Since funding started in 2008 the Jack Petchy Foundation has awarded £72,000 to youth organisations in the borough.
New director of education, Alan Potter, said: “These young people have done so much for others in their school communities and they can be very proud of the important awards they have received.
“They demonstrated just what good young people do each day and are positive role models to inspire others to realise their potential too.
“At the same time, we recognised a terrific set of leaders in our schools whose unstinting commitment and thoughtful support are invaluable.”
