A professional carpenter has turned his hand to helping gardeners use recycled materials to keep their produce warm this winter.
Ben Izard lent his tools and experience at a free workshop run by environmental group Transition Town Kingston to build cold frames out of old windows, a wardrobe and a bed.
Gardeners will be able to keep growing salad and seedlings well into the winter with the help of the cold frames capturing the sun’s warmth.
