More police patrols as thefts rise in Raynes Park
Theft from cars is on the rise in Raynes Park - sparking more police patrols in one neighbouring ward to deter criminals.
A spokesman for West Barnes safer neighbourhood team said: “In response [to the rise] you may have noticed the extra patrols being conducted by our PCSO’s in the Tesco’s and B&Q car parks.
"Both these car parks have tended to feature among our ‘hotspot’ areas in the past.”
He said recent activity to tackle the problem included a ‘reassurance bus’ at the B&Q car park, offering drivers tips on keeping their property safe.
