The Dittons Friends of CHASE group, whose members raise money for CHASE hospice care for children, has been holding its annual fundraising lunch at The French Table in Surbiton since 2003.
The lunch, this year on November 19, always raises about £2,000 for CHASE, which supports families with children not expected to reach adulthood.
This year members are particularly thrilled to be at The French Table because the restaurant is to appear on November 17th in Gordon Ramsay's new F Word series on Channel 4 television.
The mission of the show is to find the UK’s best local restaurant. Viewers were asked to nominate their favourite restaurant via the Channel 4 website and there were over 10,000 nominations for 4,500 restaurants.
The first programme saw two Italian restaurants go head to head and the second featured Indian Restaurants.
The third on November 17 will be French Restaurants including The French Table when chefs will prepare a three course meal under Gordon’s watchful eye for F Word diners.
The French Table is run by husband and wife team Eric and Sarah Guignard who are friends of Dittons group chair, Gill McCafferty.
CHASE fundraising manager Anna Wemyss said: “This lunch has been raising a great amount of money for us every year and this one will no doubt be extra special as it is being featured on the show just two days beforehand.
“CHASE has to raise £4 million a year and relies greatly on the funds raised by groups such as The Dittons and by individuals in the community. Particularly in this difficult economic climate, we appreciate everyone’s continued support which will ensure we can carry on providing help and care to families with children not expected to live into adulthood, throughout South West London, Surrey and Sussex.”
