Bedelsford School became the first in the borough to have a Scout troop, after six pupils were invested in front of the whole school.
The new troop is part of the 7th Malden Scout Group, and although the children have disabilities they are able to belong to, and take part, in activities of the Scout Association.
Some of the students used communication aids and sign language as they made their promise on Friday, October 23, with officials from the scouting world looking on.
Headteacher Angela Evans said: “It is a really exciting development and further helps our pupils to be included in local community events.”
