Lambeth Council has scooped the top award at a national awards ceremony for its efforts to build better schools.
Lambeth was named as joint winner of authority of the year at the Building School's for the Future awards on November 12.
It shared the award with Southwark Council and also scooped two other awards.
The recently opened Elm Court school in West Norwood took the title of best design for a remodelled school, while Lambeth won the innovation in PE and sport category for its development of football, basketball and mini tennis facilities at pupil referal unit Park Campus in Gypsy Road.
Councillor Paul McGlone, Lambeth cabinet member for children and young people’s services, said: “Lambeth Council’s award-winning BSF programme is one of the fastest growing projects in the country and we are delighted that its creativity and imagination has once again been recognised at these prestigious awards."
