A Clapham care home has been shortlisted for an award in a national competition.
Representatives of Nightingale, on Nightingale Lane, travelled to Birmingham where they were named joint runners-up at the National Care Home of the Year competition.
The contest recognises the excellence in care homes and dedication by the team of care providers.
Nearly 150 care homes across the UK entered the awards and Nightingale was selected as a finalist in the medium care home category.
Sally Miller, assistant director of Nightingale said: “We are tremendously proud to have been selected for such a prestigious award.
"At Nightingale we work tirelessly to stimulate and enrich the lives of every one of our residents and the home sets an exemplary standard of care for the community and the whole sector.
”It is with thanks to our residents, staff and volunteers that make Nightingale a care home of excellence and this recognition is a testament to all of their dedication.“
