Robbers burst into a pub in Clapham and pointed guns at staff as they searched for cash.

Three men, one with a handgun, entered the Falcon pub in Bedford Road, about 1am on November 6.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “The pub had closed and staff were clearing away when three men entered. One of them pointed a handgun at staff and demanded cash.

“A member of staff, a man in his 20s, was assaulted. He was taken to hospital suffering from cuts but later released.

“The three men left the premises after trying to get access to the tills. It is not known if they left in a vehicle.”

Police would not say if money was stolen.

Detectives at the Met’s Flying Squad, who are investigating, said the suspects were three black men in their mid 20s, dressed in dark clothing.

Detective constable Dan Mitchell said: “The scene of the robbery is on the main road and very close to the Clapham North London Underground station.

“It was late but it had been Bonfire Night and there were still plenty of people around, still celebrating or making their way home from events.

“Did you see anything of these three men, did you see or hear anything suspicious?”

Police said there was a possible link with another armed robbery on a Duke of Edinburgh pub, Ferndale Road, Brixton, on Sunday, November 1, about 2.30am.

Anyone with information on either incident should call police on 020 8247 7940 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
