The village of Thames Ditton is supposedly a peaceful, perfect suburb. However, this quaint little paradise is plagued by a near uncontrollable menace. Parking. I don't mean that there isn't enough parking space, no, I am referring to the deluge of cars packed into the village in the most frustrating places.
One of the worst areas of this invasion is at the heart of the village, where many important shops are located, such as the post office and the chemist. Everyday when passing through the area, cars can be found blocking your path left and right. This impossible squeeze of vehicles blocks traffic going through the village, practically halting journeys, causing many people to be frequently late and driving many more insane. "I don't think people should be allowed to park on the High Street, it just causes so much trouble and congestion for everyone else", advises Mrs Shattock, who has been a Thames Ditton local for twenty years.
There is an incredibly roomy car-park just down an adjacent road which is just as comfy as our faithful Thames Ditton hub. Also, as an added bonus our cars will be significantly safer from the careless little accidents constantly occurring in the crammed main streets.
Then again, it is not only the centre of our community which suffers from this problem, but also many other roads. Basingfield Road is especially tortured by this issue. The poor inhabitants of this road are always engulfed in a flock of cars trying to reach the nearby school and train station. Businessmen and mothers alike swarm the road like a horde of angry bees. Mrs Kirby, a resident of the road, states "It makes my blood boil, especially when they park over my drive". As you can see, the road is being taken over by an onslaught of people, and nobody is happy about the invasion.
Therefore, it is important to be considerate of others. Just one car being parked away neatly in the car-park can make a huge difference. I am aware that I sound like a cheesy advertisement about global warming, but it's true. Please, be aware of the Thames Ditton traffic menace.
