Eager shoppers did not have to travel as far afield as Germany or Austria to get their Christmas market fix at the weekend.
Stalls selling arts and crafts, gifts, books, music and hot food were set up in The British Home in Crown Dale, Streatham.
Neighbouring Crown Dale Primary School held its Christmas fair on the same day while the Croydon Brass Band played carols to entertain visitors.
And for the first time, residents of the home - which cares for around 120 adults, most with long term and life limiting medical conditions - and children from the school made a giant paperchain linking the two buildings together.
