An Indian restaurant in Hinchley Wood is striving to prove variety is the spice of life, with a new community-based project.

Indian Dining in Station Approach is encouraging local artists, photographers and sculptors to showcase their work free of charge at the restaurant.

Owner Asad Khan said the project, which is called the Artists’ Palate, would coincide with the restaurant’s new lunchtime and early evening menu.

He said: “India Dining is a restaurant in the community, for the community, and we wanted to give something back to residents.

“The Artists’ Palate is a fantastic way for creative local people to display their work for free.

“I know our customers will enjoy having new artwork on the walls – it’s the perfect accompaniment to our cut-price menus.”

The Artists’ Palate, which will run for six months, is inviting submissions from artist within a 15-mile radius of the restaurant.

New works will be chosen every seven to 10 days and will be displayed for one week during lunchtime service.

There will also be an opportunity to buy the work on display.

The new lunchtime menu at India Dining costs £6.95 for one course and is available between noon and 2.30pm on Monday to Saturday.

The early dining menu is available between 5.30pm and 7pm, from Sunday to Thursday.
