Balham library has some impressive new pieces of artwork donated by students at Chestnut Grove School.
The students worked with the glass artist Katerina Fotopoulous to produce abstract pieces with a reading theme.
Pupils from years 7, 8 and 9 made their creations from vinyl and acrylic.
Johannah Egan, art teacher, said: ”Making our art visible to the local community was our aim.
“It was very impressive. A beautiful light will come to the space. In the day and at night people walking past on their way to Waitrose will be able to see the vivid colours in the windows.”
The work, which is on permanent display, is in the upstairs children’s section.
