Forty large pizzas were fed to pupils when they took part in fundraising for children in Africa.
Sutton High School for Girls' headteacher said she was “so grateful” after Domino’s Pizza in Sutton supplied a stack of pizza to pupils when they held an event to raise funds for the Save the Children Sudan Water Appeal.
To mark the school's 125th birthday and raise extra cash for its nominated charity, pupils put on a performance focusing on uniting people from across the globe. They spoke in different languages from dramatic pieces in German to singing in Spanish.
Domino’s supplied pizzas for the audience and for everyone who took part in the event. The top toppings included specially made pizzas with a Sudanese theme to tie in with the chosen charity.
Sutton High School for Girls headmaster Stephen Callaghan said: “We’re so grateful for Domino’s help. Their generosity in catering for our event and the raffle prizes they provided was extremely well received.
“Our evening was about communication and it was clear the world loves Domino’s Pizza. It spoke a language of its own as there were lots of empty pizza boxes by the end of the night.”
Domino's marketing supervisor in Sutton Marwan Shakarchi said: “We were more than happy to help support such a worthwhile appeal. We were given a very warm welcome on arriving at the school and the smell of fresh, hot pizza certainly united the crowded room.
“It’s part of Domino’s philosophy to establish good local community relations and we are delighted to be involved in projects like this.”
The fundraising event raised £1,200 for the Save the Children Sudan Water Appeal.
