There is £65,000 up for grabs to help fund activities and projects for young people in Reigate and Banstead.
The money, allocated by the Government, is to enable young people aged 13 to 19 (or young people with special needs up to 25 years) to have a greater choice and influence over what is provided for them.
Half of the funding (£33,500) has been set aside for the Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF), to spend on projects young people feel will benefit themselves, their peers and their community.
The other half has been slated for the Youth Capital Fund (YCF), which is for improving community facilities and items of equipment.
All applications must be submitted by young people, and they can apply for both sources of funding.
Alistair Bounds, chairman of Reigate and Banstead Youth Council, said: “The scheme is called ‘Take Part, Take Power’ and that is exactly the opportunity it provides .
“If you submit a bid and it is successful, you really will be influencing your community in a positive way.”
The deadline for submitting bids to Surrey County Council is Friday, January 29.
