A distraught pensioner’s dog, dubbed ‘Houdini’, which vanished again last week has been spotted near the Collingwood Road area of Sutton.
The sighting was made by Hayley Smith last Thursday who recognised the Schnauzer, real name Ellie, from last week’s paper.
Unfortunately Miss Smith was unable to find her but is certain it was the dog in question.
She said: “I was certain it was the dog I saw in the paper. I only saw him her briefly but I was sure it was him. We were in the car and couldn’t stop”
Gordon Marshom, of Windsor Avenue, let Ellie out last Tuesday night (January 19) before bed but left his back door ajar and the four-year-old escaped.
Ellie disappeared previously just before Christmas and turned up at a dog pound in Sevenoaks several days later and Mr Marshom had to borrow £100 from his carer to get her back.
The 82-year-old said: “Ellie, or Houdini as I call her, is such a lovely dog. She’s my best friend in the world and I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
