A burglar who robbed a frail pensioner was arrested after being spotted on a bus by two eagle-eyed PCSOs.
Paulina Kisielska, 22, of Aplin Court, Grove Road, was travelling on the 151 bus to Rosehill when she was recognised.
The officers followed her off the bus and kept her talking while a colleague at Sutton Police Station sent a photo of the suspect so they could confirm her identity.
By this stage the woman was being deliberately evasive about her correct identity.
PCSO Katherine Kilsby said: “Whilst we were waiting to confirm her identity, we kept the woman chatting.”
The woman was arrested and subsequently charged with burglary and theft at the home of an 81-year-old man in Grange Road on November 13 last year.
Kisielska pleaded guilty to burglary and theft at Sutton Magistrates Court on January 27 and is due to be sentenced on February 3.
