Croydon College principal Mariane Cavalli is to leave after nine years Mrs Cavalli is taking up a new post as principal and chief executive of Warwickshire College.
Mrs Cavalli said: “The decision to leave has been a very difficult one. Croydon College is a great college. The board is totally committed to its continuous improvement, the staff are constantly striving to provide a really positive experience for their learners and the students themselves respond and thrive in the environment we have all created.”
“Croydon College continues to go from strength to strength and is already one of the best performing college’s in the country. The time is right though for me to take on a new challenge and I know I will leave the college in safe hands.”
Chairman of governors, Kevin Henry said: “We are of course very sad to be losing Mariane. She has been an inspirational principal and her leadership and drive have been key in bringing about the significant improvements the College has made in recent years. She has given us an excellent foundation to build on as we continue our journey to become an outstanding College.”
“We know we have been extremely fortunate in having Mariane as our principal for nearly nine years. We wish her well in her new post.”
Mariane Cavalli will continue in her post until the end of this academic year and will begin her new role in Warwickshire in September. The process of appointing a new principal is underway and it is hoped the new appointee will be in place soon after the start of the 2010/11 academic year.
