Fundraisers across Merton are bouncing, skating and strolling to make money for victims of the Haitian earthquake.
Charity events set up to raise cash included a sponsored space hopper bounce at the weekend, a Morden woman’s marathon ice skating session and a fundraising stroll by toddlers on Wimbledon Common.
Sunday’s space hopper bounce at Rushmore Pond was organised by pupils at Wimbledon High School. It raised money for development charity Action Aid’s Haiti appeal.
Passers-by donated £124 to the cause, while the girls have raised almost £100 via a fundraising website for the event.
Beverley Way resident Joanne Parr will get her skates on later this month on behalf of Unicef UK. The 34-year-old, who will try and cover 12 miles in two hours at the Streatham Ice Arena on February 17, has already been promised about £200 in online donations alone to attempt the challenge.
And children at Montessori Children's House Nursery in Spencer Hill, Wimbledon Village, pulled on their walking boots on Friday. Youngsters set off on a walk from the Wimbledon Common windmill to raise cash for food, water and housing on the disaster-hit island.
Volunteer doctors and health workers from Morden charity Humanity First have been working in Haiti since the disaster struck last month, with a fresh wave of flying into the country last week.
