Monkeys like to keep their conversations short and sweet, very much like humans, researchers at Roehampton University have found.
Scientists studied the formosan macaque of Taiwan, which has 35 different calls, and found the shortest is used the most frequently.
They drew comparisons with English, where short words such as “a”, “the” and “of” are among the most common.
