A man has broken a shop window causing about £2,000 damage in Ashtead.

At 10.40pm on Wednesday, January 27, two men entered Tesco Express, on Craddocks Parade, and when they left the store the suspects picked up an item and threw it at the stores window. It caused a large crack and approximately £2,000 worth of damage.

Safer neighbourhood officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with damage that was caused to the shop window.

Both men are described by police as being white, aged between 25 and 30 years and between 5ft 10in and 6ft in height.

One of them is of skinny build with a stubbly face and blond hair, wearing a white and grey horizontal stripped top with the number 29 written on the front and blue jeans.

The other is of average build with dark brown, short hair and wearing blue jeans, a red Manchester United shirt and brown jacket.

Ashtead safer neighbourhood officer, PC Jason Woods said: “We have very good descriptions of both the suspects we would like to talk to, along with a clear image from the shops CCTV.

“I am very keen to find these two men and I hope that someone in the community will recognise them and come forward with information.”
