Police found a teenager accused of killing a 16-year-old "bare chested and covered in blood" when they arrested him, a court heard this morning.
Oluwaseyi Ogunyemi, also known as Seyi, died in Larkhall Park, Stockwell, in April last year, the Old Bailey heard.
Oluwaseyi was stabbed six times, his 17-year-old friend was stabbed nine times but survived.
Yesterday, the court heard two dogs were used as "weapons" in the attack.
Chrisdian Johnson, 22, Shane Johnson, 20, both of Wyvil Road, Battersea, and Darcy Menezes, 18, of Studley Road, Clapham, deny murder and attempted murder.
Brian Altman QC, prosecuting, told the court all three defendants took part in the attack.
He said: "During the course of searching the are police found a silver knife blade stuck in the grass. The handle, which had clearly broken from it, was found some distance away.
"The blade bore blood on it and other DNA matching Shane Johnson's DNA profile."
Mr Altman added Chrisdian Johnson was arrested in Wandsworth Road after the attack.
He said: "Police saw two males stood outside a cab office. Both men were shirtless.
"The males noticed the police officers and started walking away. Police caught Chrisdian Johnson covered in blood, the other escaped and he had a wounded dog with him."
Mr Altman said when police caught Chrisdian Johnson, they described him as "bare chested and smothered in blood".
When arrested he told a police officer "the blood on me is from the dog you saw, which had blood on it", Mr Altman said.
"That was a lie", Mr Altman said, adding DNA from areas of blood swabbed from Chrisdian Johnson proved to match Oluwaseyi's DNA profile.
The jury heard the two dogs, owned by Chrisdian Johnson and Mr Menezes felled Ogunyemi before he was stabbed.
Mr Altman said the dogs used in the attack were an adult male Staffordshire bull terrier-bull mastiff cross named Tyson and an adult female Brindle Staffordshire terrier called Mia.
Tyson was owned by Chrisdian Johnson and Mia by Mr Menezes, the court heard.
After attack on April 27 last year, a post mortem examination gave Oluwaseyi’s cause of death as multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.
The trial, which is expected to last seven weeks, continues.
