A West Molesey adventurer has embarked on a mission to run the length of every Tube line in London above ground.

Tim Moss and his running partner Laura Tomlinson, from Stockwell, aim to raise £1,000 for the British Lung Foundation, after Laura lost her granddad to asbestosis in May 2009.

So far they have visited 66 of 270 Tube stations and covered 41 miles of tube length, out of a total 250 miles.

Mr Moss said: “By travelling underground you miss out on all of the wonderful places that the tunnels connect.

“I’m using one of London’s great icons as an excuse to embrace my surroundings.”

Mr Moss will touch in with his Oyster card at the start of the line, before running back to the street and venturing to each stop on the line.

He will then lean over the underground barriers to touch out his oyster card at the final destination and make a record of his journey.

In January the sporting pair covered the routes of the Circle, Victoria and Hammersmith and City lines, covering a distance of 52 miles overland, and spending more than 10 hours of running.
