Julian Speroni: Had a few comfortable saves to make and could do nothing with the goal. His kicking in the first half was awful though. 6

Nathaniel Clyne: A couple of dodgy moments but recovered both times and won the ball back. He knows his job and he does it well with no fuss. Got forward well to set up Danns for the winner. 8

Matt Lawrence: Absolutely superb. Having been dropped from the squad for his horror show against Scunthorpe in September he had a point to prove and did it in style. Made two brilliantly timed last-ditched tackles and headed almost everything out of the box. Man of the match. 9

Claude Davis: Upstaged by Lawrence and caught out of position a couple of times but still a very good performance once he learned to cope with Hayes. 7

Clint Hill: No nonsense as usual and helped organise the defence. Was done for pace a few times early on though.7

Shaun Derry: Spurred the team on, particularly after the break, and was a key figure in keeping them in a position where they could win the game. 7

Neil Danns: Super goal and he is in the best form of his whole Palace career. Celebrations after he scored showed how much it meant to him. 7

Nick Carle: Back in the side and doing really well. Got back to help the defence and forward to help the attack though he gave away a few silly free kicks. 7

Danny Butterfield: No hat-trick this time and looked a little tired. Some referees may have sent him off for the lunge on Hayes in the first half. 5

Darren Ambrose: Was not in the game in the first half like the rest of the Palace team but worked hard after the break and scored a super goal. Palace would be in real trouble without his 15 goals this season. 7

Alan Lee: Never stopped working but got frustrated as he was constantly beaten to headers by Jones and Mirfin. 6

Subs:

Kieran Djilali (Butterfield, 64): Should have scored twice but showed his pace when Williams was forced to take him down. Looks rejuvenated and like he wants to be the new Moses. 6

Calvin Andrew (Lee, 75): Had a couple of half chances and made space for himself well. 6

Lee Hills (Lawrence, 90): Helped Palace to the winner. 5
