Residents and community groups are being asked to nominate their favourite Lottery-funded project in the borough for the National Lottery Awards 2010.
The National Lottery is encouraging all projects in the borough which have received Lottery funding in the past 15 years to enter the awards and gain recognition for their work.
Former Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay, who is supporting the awards, said: “These awards are an opportunity to highlight just some of the fantastic work that is being done with that money, as well as recognising the dedication of the people behind the projects who are making a difference in their communities.”
The entrants who make it to the awards final will appear on BBC1 later in the year and will be in with a chance of winning a £2,000 prize.
The awards have seven categories - sport’ heritage, arts, environment, voluntary or charity, health and education.
