Corinthian Casuals returned to form with a strong display and ended Burgess Hill Town’s seven-match unbeaten run in the process, writes Malcolm Parker.

They took a 12th-minute lead thanks to another Glenn Boosey special. He picked up a loose ball in midfield and hit a dipping 30-yarder which flew in just under the bar.

Burgess Hill hit back with a free kick curling just round the post while, for Casuals, Scott Hassell had a shot easily saved, Owusu Bekoe screwed a chance wide and Carlton Murray-Price forced the keeper to save well after a great turn and run.

Just as half-time was approaching Bekoe shot well wide when through, but made u o or this when he latched onto a header and slotted past the keeper.

The second half started with an early chance for Murray-Price who fired well over after breaking through.

The match then turned into an even affair with speculative long range shots by both teams. Burgess Hill had a goal disallowed for a push on a defender.

Kane Sergeant drilled home Casuals’ third in the 80th minute after a fine flowing three-man move.

Town fought back and minutes later substitute John Lansdale scored tapping in after Luke Naughton could only push a save into his path.

Casuals were reduced to 10 men when a high tackle from Hassell saw him red-carded, with Burgess Hill midfielder Leo Day carried off on a stretcher.

Town ended the stronger and had a few chances to narrow the score, but took none. Kane Sergeant had on late chance missing from a good position, but Casuals had done enough by now to claim the points.

Casuals: Luke Naughton, Youseff Metwali, Dale Hennessey, Wayne Finnie, Matt Kidson, Scott Hassell, Kane Sergeant, Jason Turley, Owusu Bekoe (Leon Wright), Glenn Boosey (Jamal Carr), Carlton Murray-Price (Ali Wiltshire)
