People are being asked to raise money for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity by taking part in the County Bike Ride and Family Fun Day at Cobham Rugby Club on Sunday, June 13.
The 10-mile family ride sets off from the Fairmile Lane venue and is mainly off road, taking in the Mole Valley and Great Bookham Common.
For more adventurous cyclists, there is a 17-mile dirt trail through Oxshott Woods and for people who really want to push themselves, there is a 45-mile road ride, a challenging Tarmac route with several hilly sections.
The Rainbow Trust provides a special service to families when their child has a life-threatening or terminal illness.
Paul Manning, cycling gold medallist at the Beijing Olympics, took part in the bike ride last year and encouraged people to sign up for it this year.
He said: “It was great to see so many people enjoying exercising and riding their bikes to support the trust last year and I even saw a few budding Olympians.”
Entry fees are £12 for adults and £6 for 13 to 17-year-olds and the trust asks each rider to raise £50 in sponsorship. The closing date for entries is Friday, April 30.
There will also be prizes for the riders who raise the most money, including a place on a four day cycling challenge in Tuscany or Paris.
